Legitimacy & Safety

Are cheap software keys legitimate? +

Yes — when purchased from a verified reseller. MyLegitKeys sources genuine Microsoft license keys through authorized channels. Legitimate discounted keys exist because resellers purchase volume licenses at wholesale prices and pass the savings on. Every key we sell is verified before listing. Our 8+ years in business, Trustpilot reviews, and Microsoft Partnership status are your proof that our keys activate and remain active permanently.

Will Microsoft deactivate my key if I buy it from a third-party reseller? +

Microsoft only deactivates keys that are counterfeit, stolen, or used outside their licensed scope. Keys purchased from authorized resellers like MyLegitKeys are fully legitimate and will not be deactivated. If any key you purchase from us is ever flagged by Microsoft, we will provide a free replacement or full refund — no questions asked.

Is it legal to buy discounted software keys? +

Yes. Purchasing genuine product keys from legitimate resellers is completely legal under U.S. law. The legal risk only applies to counterfeit keys, stolen keys, or key generators (keygens). MyLegitKeys is a Microsoft Authorized Education Partner (AEP) and CSP Reseller — we are authorized by Microsoft to sell the products listed on our site.

What is the difference between a cheap key and a counterfeit key? +

A counterfeit key is fake — it will not activate Windows or Office and may trigger a “not genuine” warning. A legitimately discounted key is a real, valid license purchased at a lower price through volume or authorized reseller channels. MyLegitKeys sells only the latter. If you are unsure whether a key from any seller is genuine, always check for a money-back guarantee and verifiable reviews.

Ordering & Payment

What payment methods do you accept? +

We accept PayPal, all major credit and debit cards, and cryptocurrencies. You do not need a PayPal account to pay by card — you can check out as a guest. All payments are processed through encrypted, secure channels.

Do I need an account to purchase? +

No account is required. You can complete checkout as a guest using just your email address. We recommend creating an account if you plan to order again, as it gives you easy access to your order history and keys.

Do you offer bulk or wholesale pricing? +

Yes. We offer bulk and wholesale pricing for businesses and resellers purchasing 10 or more licenses. We also specialize in Microsoft Volume License MAK keys for larger deployments. Contact us at [email protected] with your requirements and we will provide a custom quote within a few hours.

Delivery

How are keys delivered? +

All keys are delivered digitally to your email address within minutes of payment confirmation. You will receive your license key and step-by-step activation instructions. No shipping, no physical product — instant access.

I have not received my key — what should I do? +

First, check your spam or junk folder — automated emails sometimes land there. If you have not received your key within 6 hours of payment, contact us at [email protected] or via WhatsApp with your order number. We typically resolve delivery issues within a few hours.

Key Types & Compatibility

What is the difference between a Retail key, OEM key, and MAK key? +

Retail keys are designed for individual consumers. They can be transferred to a new computer (one machine at a time) and come with Microsoft direct support.

OEM keys are tied to the original motherboard at activation and cannot be moved to a different machine. They are cheaper but less flexible.

MAK (Multiple Activation Key) keys are designed for organizations and can activate multiple devices — typically 25 to 180+. Each activation counts against the total allotment. These are ideal for IT departments and business deployments. See our Volume MAK Keys page for more details.

Are the keys standalone or tied to a subscription? +

All keys sold on MyLegitKeys are standalone, permanent lifetime licenses — not subscriptions. Once activated, your software will never expire or require renewal. This is different from Microsoft 365 (Office 365), which is a subscription product. We sell one-time purchase licenses only.

Are the keys region-locked? +

Most of our keys are global and work worldwide. Any regional restrictions are clearly stated on the product listing. If you are unsure whether a specific key is compatible with your region, contact us before purchasing and we will confirm before you buy.

Will a Windows 10 key work on Windows 11? +

Generally, no. Each Windows version requires its own product key. A Windows 10 Pro key activates Windows 10 Pro — it will not activate Windows 11. Make sure you purchase the correct version for your needs. If you are unsure which version you need, our team is happy to advise before your purchase.

Activation & Troubleshooting

My key is not working — what should I do? +

First, double-check the key for typos — common mix-ups include O vs 0 and I vs 1. Make sure you have an active internet connection and that your VPN or firewall is temporarily disabled, as these can block Microsoft’s activation servers. If activation still fails, contact our support team immediately with your order number. We will troubleshoot with you and provide a replacement key or full refund if needed.

My key says it is “already in use” — what does that mean? +

This error usually means the key was previously activated on another device. Contact our support team right away — this should not happen with a key sold directly to you, and we will resolve it promptly with a replacement or refund.

Can I transfer my key to a new computer? +

It depends on the key type. Retail keys can be deactivated on the old machine and reactivated on a new one. OEM keys are permanently tied to the original motherboard and cannot be transferred. MAK keys have specific organizational transfer rules. We document the transferability for every product we sell — check the product listing or contact us if you need clarification.

Windows shows “This copy is not genuine” — what do I do? +

This warning should not appear with a genuine key. If it does, it usually indicates an activation error rather than a problem with the key itself. Try running the Windows Activation Troubleshooter (Settings > System > Activation > Troubleshoot). If the issue persists, contact us immediately — we will either resolve the activation or issue a replacement.

Returns & Refunds

What is your refund policy? +

We offer a full refund or free replacement if your key fails to activate through no fault of your own. If you ordered the wrong product version, we will do our best to exchange it. See our full Refund Policy for complete details. Our goal is for every customer to be 100% satisfied.
