Frequently Asked Questions
Does this license include vCenter Server?
No. vSphere host licenses and vCenter Server licenses are sold separately by VMware. This key licenses one ESXi host.
Can I use this key on multiple hosts?
One key licenses one physical host. For multiple hosts, you need one Enterprise Plus key per host (or a per-CPU key depending on your packaging).
Is vSphere 6 still supported by VMware?
VMware ended general support for vSphere 6.0 in March 2020, vSphere 6.5 in October 2022, and vSphere 6.7 in October 2022. The license remains valid and functional — this is relevant for organisations on extended support contracts or internal isolated environments.
Is this a perpetual license?
Yes. vSphere perpetual licenses do not expire. However, SnS (support and subscription) renewal is separate and needed to receive updates and VMware support.
